Large monitor lizards roam the island, but sadly a common sight is seeing these magnificent beasts scavenging in mismanaged or dumped waste.

Hedgehog time of year...lots of seriously underweight (they should be over 600g) ones out there, too small to hibernate. Took in 3 in last 2 days...off to a proper rescue centre with them tomorrow so they can be fed and looked after for the winter.
Happy #WorldTurtleDay yesterday. Seen lots of these Green and Hawksbill beauties this week helping out on the TortugaNegra #Galapagos photo ID survey with lots of enthusiastic students at the science centre.
We found one Green turtle that had been IDed off the same beach in 2010, 2014 and 2016... Pretty cool and shows they don't get out much!
Also spent a wonderful couple of hours surfing this afternoon, with turtles and sealions popping up everywhere. Only in the Galapagos!
